Courtney Middleton, MD, is an experienced obstetrician and gynecologist serving women at Inspire Ob/Gyn. She offers comprehensive women’s services for teens and adults. She specializes in treating gynecologic diseases like endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and fibroids.
A native of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Dr. Middleton graduated from Greater Atlanta Christian School. She then went west to Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, finishing her undergraduate degree in biology in three years and left soon after graduation to move to Costa Rica for three months of intensive classes to learn Spanish, followed by nine months of working alongside a medical missionary in Honduras to provide care for healthcare-starved people in rural jungle areas.
Having learned to speak Spanish while in Central America, Dr. Middleton spent two years of medical school, taught mostly in Spanish, at Ponce School of Medicine in Puerto Rico. After surviving two hurricanes, she decided to complete her medical degree—hurricane-free—at Mercer University in Macon. She completed her OB/GYN residency at Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Missouri and decided to move home to Atlanta after four snowy winters. She has been practicing in the Atlanta area since 2006.
Dr. Middleton has always been interested in caring for others and can’t imagine a job that would be a better fit than working in women’s healthcare. Being bilingual, she likes being able to serve both English and Spanish-speaking patients. She is married and she and her husband, Eric, are dedicated to their two sons. They love spending time together, particularly cooking and traveling to new places.
